AlQa'dah 14, 1432, Oct 12, 2011, SPA - The White House on Tuesday expressed their disappointment in the conviction and sentencing of former Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko. In a statement, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said that the U.S. is “deeply disappointed” in the conviction and sentencing, which he called “politically motivated.” The White House reaction came as Tymoshenko was found guilty of abuse of authority for signing gas contracts with Russia and was sentenced to seven years in prison.
