AlQa'dah 11, 1432, Oct 9, 2011, SPA - Lebanese Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Major General Marwan Al-Zein, said that the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Award for Translation, has opened the way for contacts with other cultures and civilizations around the world and promoted constructive dialogue that leads to mutual understanding and rapprochement. In a statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA) on the occasion of the handing-over ceremony in Beijing, Al-Zein noted that King Abdullah has always paid attention to sciences and scientists and all matters that lead to the progress and development of Arab and Islamic nations, adding that the Award is one of the King's many efforts to achieve interaction among civilizations. He expressed his pleasure that two Lebanese academicians have won the Award, namely Professor of Modern and Contemporary Philosophy Dr. George Zanati, and Professor of English Language at Lebanese University, Dr. Mohammad Badawi.
