AlQa'dah 8, 1432, Oct 6, 2011, SPA -- Poet Tomas Transtromer, who Thursday won the Nobel Prize in Literature, was the seventh Swedish national to be awarded the prize, according to dpa. "It's always special, almost 40 years since a Swedish author won the literature prize," Peter Englund, permanent secretary of the Swedish Academy said on Swedish Radio. Transtromer "is known as an enormously skilful creator of images, his metaphors are world famous and metaphors that open ups the world for us... make it more concrete for us," Englund added. The most recent Swedish winners of the literature award were Eyvind Johnson and Harry Martinson - also members of the Swedish Academy - who shared the prize in 1974.
