AlQa'dah 6, 1432, Oct 4, 2011, SPA - Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority (SAGIA) signed here yesterday an agreement with Pharmaceutical Industry Pfizer World Company to establish a pharmaceutical plant at King Abdullah Economic City in Rabigh, which is considered the first plant for pharmaceutical industry to be set up by the Company in the Middle East. The plant will be built on an area of 65,000 square meters; its production will begin in 2015, and as many as 200 workers will work in the plant that will contribute to transfer pharmaceutical manufacturing experiences to the local markets in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The signing ceremony was attended by Prince Saud bin Khalid Al-Faisal, Vice Governor of SAGIA for Investment Affairs and President of National Competitiveness Center, and U.S. Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia James B. Smith.
