A number of Saudi businesswomen and academicians praised the decision issued by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud allowing females to participate in the Shura Council and municipal councils. They described the decision as historical and a turning point in the recent history of social cohesion of the Kingdom. They said the monarch now gave women their rights to vote and run for decision-making organizations of the country, vowing to show faithfulness and goodwill and remain to the favorable judgement of the Saudi leadership. They were Dr. Najat Al-Yazji, a teaching staff at the University of Taif, Dr. Ghadeer Filimban, a teaching staff at the University of Taif, and Dr. Ranya Khogair, a businesswoman.
