Palestine's Abbas Submits U.N. Bid and Addresses Assembly

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Friday submitted an application to Ban Ki-moon for full membership of the United Nations and shortly afterwards addressed the 193-nation General Assembly.
On the application for U.N. membership, he said it calls for the "admission of Palestine on the basis of the 4 June 1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital."
