Several strong earthquakes on Monday rattled Guatemala, sending residents in panic. At least three people were killed, according to the newspaper Prensa Libre which quoted rescue workers for its report. But there was no official confirmation. The quakes were felt across the entire small Central American country, the German Press Agency "DPA". The epicenters were about 40 kilometres south of the capital, in the Santa Rosa region, according to the Guatemala seismology service Insivumeh. A number of buildings were evacuated. Mud slides were triggered in some places, the newspaper reported.
