The Founder of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Late King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud (May Allah bless his soul) had launched the first project of desalinated water to transform the Kingdom from a water-scarce state into the largest producer of desalinated water in the world during the era of the Custodian of The Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. Statistics issued by Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC) and reported today by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), on the occasion of the 81st anniversary of the National Day of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, showed that the total daily production of desalinated water of the Corporation's stations amounted to 833.1 million cubic meters in 2010 and electricity power generation 16,425,152 megawatts per hour compared to 1,025,048,182 cubic meters of desalinated water and 21,066,534 megawatts per hour of electricity power generation in 2005.
