The Competent Criminal Court today resumed considering a lawsuit filed by the prosecution against Saudi (38), Qatari (1), Yemeni (1) and Afghan (1) nationals. They were accused of establishing a terrorist cell to use the territory of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in planning and preparing terrorist operations against U.S. troops in Qatar and Kuwait; financing the fight in Iraq and Afghanistan; recruiting individuals for al-Qaeda in Iraq; and creating a border crossing point between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Iraq through which they send recruits, fighters, weapons and money. Ten of the accused appeared before the court at today's session, which is the second session. This session was attended by a representative of the Human Rights Commission and a number of media correspondents.
