U.N. Extends Its Mission In Liberia For A Year

The U.N. Security Council adopted last night a resolution extending the United Nations' Mission in Liberia for one more year.
The United States' ambassador to the United Nations, Susan Rice, called on Liberia to organize presidential and legislative elections on October 11.
The United Nations' Mission in Liberia was formed in 2003 with a strength of 15,000 soldiers and 1,115 policemen.
