A Chinese official says at least eight students drowned and up to a dozen could be missing when a ferry carrying them on a holiday trip capsized in central China. The official who gave only his surname Li said 10 students were rescued after the accident about midafternoon Friday, AP reported. Li says the students were on their way home for the three-day Mid-Autumn festival. It happened in Shaoyang county in Hunan province. Local media say up to 30 students may have been on the boat. Ages of the students were not given and more information was not immediately available. -- SPA
