Four people died and eight others were injured Wednesday after a man set fire to an apartment he rented in the northeastern city of Changchun, local police said. Altogether 39 residents of the building in the city's Kuancheng District were evacuated after the suspect set fire to his clothes in his rented room early Wednesday, Xinhua quoted police as saying. The four died while hospitalized. The eight others are receiving treatment, police said. The suspect and the apartment owner have been detained, police said. Police continue to investigate.
