President Mahmoud Abbas will make an important address to the nation in the coming days on the importance of going to the United Nations to get recognition of statehood, Saturday said presidential spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeineh. According to WAFA, he said following a meeting for the Fatah Central Committee that the speech will discuss “what it means going to the UN to preserve the rights and achievements of our people.” The Central Committee discussed in its meeting going to the UN in September, and, according to Abu Rudeineh, it also discussed the decisions of the Arab League's follow up committee, which convened in the Qatari capital, Doha, as well the meeting with the European Union's foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton during her last visit to the region.
