The Civil Aviation Authority stressed its keenness on exploiting all potentials and services to facilitate the return of Umrah performers throughout the year, especially during the blessed month of Ramadan, which has witnessed a high increase in the number of Umrah performers and air traffic at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah. In a press release issued today, the Authority said that Hajj terminals at the Airport have witnessed a protest by a number of Egyptian Umrah performers because of a delay in travel to their country, clarifying that some of them rushed to procedures' areas which led to the delay of flight for hours. The release attributed the delay of the departure of Umrah performers to a number of factors including the lack of commitment to return dates by many Umrah performers who came during the blessed month of Ramadan, non-compliance with instructions and regulations for the weight and size of luggage, and the rush of some Umrah performers to travel without available reservation, as well as irresponsible behaviors of some of them. The Authority pointed out that in spite of this and emanating from the keenness on facilitating the travel of latecomers of Umrah performers, a joint operations room was equipped by all sectors working in the airport who implemented an immediate plan round the clock for the departure of all Umrah performers who have not caught their flights.
