An associate professor of kinesiology at a California university is on the run from police who suspect him of leading a motorcycle gang and a methamphetamine trafficking ring, according to dpa. Steve Kinzey, 43, of California State University at San Bernardino was the target of a six-month narcotics and weapons trafficking investigation, the Los Angeles Times reported Friday. Police believe he headed the Devils Disciples Outlaw motorbike gang and said they found 500 grams of methamphetamine during a search of his home on Thursday, as well as rifles, handguns and body armour. Police said that Kinzey, whose gang nickname is Skinz, is a fugitive who is considered armed and dangerous. "To have an associate professor who is a member of the Devils Disciples and allegedly dealing methamphetamine is quite alarming. I mean, it's unusual to say the least," Sheriff Rod Hoops said at a news conference in San Bernardino. Police said they arrested nine suspected members of the gang as well as Kinsey's live-in girlfriend on suspicion of distributing methamphetamine. Family and neighbours said they were shocked that the academic led a double life. -- SPA
