A bomb blast Friday at the United Nations compound in the Nigerian capital Abuja killed several people, according to UN officials and witnesses, dpa said. A truck laden with explosives blew up near a main gate, witnesses said, though police would not confirm any information. "I was among the lucky evacuees, I saw many dead bodies littered everywhere," Michael Ocilaje, who works at the building for the UN Children's Fund (UNICEF), told the German Press Agency dpa. Some people were said to be still trapped inside the compound, which houses several UN agencies based in Nigeria. Ambulances were at the scene ferrying the wounded to hospital. -- SPA
