More than 20,000 people had died during the six-month-old rebellion to oust leader Moamer Gaddafi, dpa quoted Libyan rebel leader Mustafa Abdel Jalil as saying on Thursday. "I do not have the exact figure, but the armed conflict has resulted in more than 20,000 dead," Jalil, who heads the Transitional National Council, told reporters in Benghazi. The rebel leader assured the Libyan people that there had been no use of chemical weapons during the conflict. Jalil acted as Justice Minister before joining the insurgents last February.
