African nations pledged 51 million dollars for humanitarian relief efforts in the drought-stricken Horn of Africa at an African Union summit in the Ethiopian capital on Thursday, according to dpa. The AU said in addition to the 51 million dollars, it had also received 28 million dollars worth of services "in kind". The African Development Bank announced at the summit that it would make 300 million dollars available for projects over the next three years.
