Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper has expressed optimism that power will soon be transferred to the Libyan National Transitional Council as the legitimately recognized government in Libya. He told the Canadian media that his country felt that the end of Qaddafi regime is fast approaching with the rebels taking control of most parts of Tripoli, the capital city. It is worth mentioning that Canada participates in international operations led by NATO to "protect civilians in Libya."
