Thousands of rebel fighters 25 km (15 miles) west of Tripoli were seen moving toward the capital on Sunday evening, a Reuters correspondent at the scene said. The fighters passed a road sign saying Tripoli was 25 km away, the correspondent said. He said that as the rebels advanced they took control of a barracks belonging to the so-called Khamis brigade.
