A car accident in north Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region has left nine people dead and another one injured, local safety authorities said Monday. The accident happened at about 6:14 p.m. Sunday when a sedan crashed head-on with a sports utility vehicle in Abag Banner of Inner Mongolia's Xilin Gol League, Xinhua quoted sources with the region's safety administration bureau as saying. All four people in the sedan and five passengers in the sports utility vehicle died at the scene, according to sources. The driver of the sports utility vehicle survived the accident and was sent to a nearby hospital. Police continue to investigate the cause of the accident.
