U.S. forecasters said a tropical depression could approach Bermuda by early Monday. The National Hurricane Center in Miami said Sunday that a tropical storm warning had been issued for Bermuda, though the system's center was still about 300 miles (480 kilometers) from the islands. The depression could strengthen and become a tropical storm sometime Sunday. It was moving west-northwest at 7 mph (11 kph) and had maximum sustained winds of 35 mph (56 kph), AP reported. Although forecasters say the system could approach Bermuda, it is projected to remain well away from the U.S. East Coast.
