South Africa President Jacob Zuma, accompanied by several ministers and a business delegation, began an official two-day visit to Burundi on Thursday, according to dpa, South Africa mediated long-running talks in Burundi, during that country's civil war, which led to a power-sharing government in 2001 and elections four years later. "South Africa believes the time has come to work more closely with Burundi in the country's post-conflict reconstruction and development," said a statement from Zuma's office. Accompanying Zuma, who landed in Burundi on Wednesday evening, were several ministers, including those holding the foreign, defence, trade and higher education portfolios or their deputies.
