A house collapse in east China's Jiangxi Province killed eight women and two children and injured another two women Wednesday morning, local authorities said. The wall of an old house built before 1949 collapsed at about 10 a.m. in Shangtuhu village in the city of Zhangshu, Xinhua quoted the city's publicity department as saying in a press release. At the time of the accident, many villagers were sitting in the shade of the alley, it said. Ten people, aged between 85 and 3, were crushed to death at the scene, according to the press release.
