A fire that broke out in Cigemblong and Mugijaya villages, Banten, last Monday (August 2) destroyed at least 62 houses and 40 tons of stockpiled rice, ANTARA quoted a source as saying. "Up till now, we have not yet received a report of casualties in the incident. However, 17 people were slightly injured," Mukhlis, the chief of the regional disaster management agency, said here on Wednesday. He said 243 people were forced to abandon their houses due to the fire. "Right now the victims need financial support to rebuild their houses," he said. Mukhlis said the local government had provided one ton of rice, 20 boxes of instant noodle, 20 boxes of mineral water and clothes to the two villages. Meanwhile, the chief of the regional health office, Maman Sukirman, said he had instructed officials at the local community health center to monitor the health condition of the refugees.
