Two civilians were killed Saturday when communist rebels attacked a police station in the southern Philippines, a provincial police chief said. Two police officers were also wounded in the dawn attack in the town of Trento in Agusan del Sur province, 890 kilometres south of Manila, according to Senior Superintendent Jerome Baxinela. He said more than 200 guerrillas aboard three trucks attacked the station but were repulsed by 30 policemen on duty. "Two civilians, including one who was working in the station, were caught in the crossfire and were killed," he was quoted as saying by the German Press Agency "DPA"
