Early returns from a national election in Latvia indicate that a majority is likely to approve the dissolution of Parliament in an attempt to stem rampant corruption between politicians and business, according to AP. After the polls closed Saturday, the Central Election Commission said that with almost one-third of ballots counted nearly 95 percent of voters have chosen to sack the Baltic state's legislature. Only a simple majority is needed to sack parliament, and the final results are expected later Saturday. If that happens, a snap election to replace the legislature will be held in September. Saturday's vote was the first such referendum Latvia's 2.2 million people have taken part in since breaking away from the Soviet Union 20 years ago.
