The governor of the Bank of Greece departed unexpectedly for Brussels on Thursday to take part in eurozone summit negotiations on the country's debt crisis, dpa quoted news reports as saying. Giorgos Provopoulos, the governor of the Bank of Greece, was joined by the head of the Hellenic Bank Association, Vassilis Rapanos. The two officials made the sudden, last-minute trip to Brussels following a reported request by Prime Minister George Papandreou.
