The Saudi pavilion at the 54th Venice -Biennale International Exhibition, illuminations continued to attract more visitors who are interested in modern arts, organizers said today. Commenting on the occasion, Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohieddin Khoja, the Minister of Culture and Information of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, expressed happiness on the marvelous success of the Saudi pavilion authored by Raja and Shadia Alem under the title "Black Arch". In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency, he said the work, which depends on the universality of the holy city of Makkah and its cultural richness and accommodation of different Islamic cultures, once more confirms the importance of openness on the world, calls for civilizational acculturation among different cultures and embodies the vision of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz on international cultural dialogue and his adoption of many international symposia, events and conferences to further enhance cultural contacts among different people of the world. Dr. Khoja also hailed the efforts of the Supervising Committee of the pavilion, led by Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Sabail, and the work of curators: Mona Khazendar and Rabin Start. The Minister also thanked Saudi Aramco for its patronage of the event. Eighty nine countries take part in the exhibition whcih was opened in June and lasts in November this year.
