President of the Saudi Ports Authority Eng. Abdulaziz bin Mohammad Al-Tuwaijri signed today a contract with Saudi International Company for Ports to establish a second container station at King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam. In a press statement, Eng. Al-Tuwaijri said that this contract will add 1.5 million TEU to raise the capacity of the port to 3 million TEU, noting that this capacity will make King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam an important port in the Arabian Gulf. The signing ceremony was attended by Singaporean Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Wong Kwok Pun. The project worth SR 2 billion will be executed between public investment fund owned by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Port Authority of Singapore.
