Algeria has achieved a trade surplus of $10.39 billion since the beginning of this year (2011) compared to $8.20 billion during the same period of 2010. According to the latest reports of Algerian Customs Department, the value of exports amounted to $29.46 billion, while imports are estimated to be $19.08 billion. The reports attributed the hike in foreign trade exports to the increased fuel (prices) of more than 17 percent in the light of the stability of oil prices since the beginning of the year.
