Prince Talal bin Abdulaziz, President of The Arab Gulf Program for Development (AGFUND), and also President of Arab Council for Childhood and Development opened here today the media forum on poor's banks for development, organized by AGFUND aiming at establishing poor's bank in Egypt. Prince Talal addressed the opening session, reaffirming faith in poor's banks through micro-credit, which are proven to be both socially and economically feasible, and are constituting a recognizable sector within the framework of the world economy. Poor's banks, though only recently known in the Arab world, nonetheless they became a prominent figure that almost 200,000 families, or approximately a million Arab citizens have taken advantage of its programs in the previous 5 years, he concluded. -- SPA
