Tropical Storm Beatriz, the second named storm of the Pacific hurricane season, should become a hurricane later on Monday as it heads towards Mexican tourist beaches, Reuters quoted the U.S. National Hurricane Center as saying. A hurricane warning is in effect for the Mexican coast north from the tourist town of Zihuatanejo to La Fortuna, the Miami-based center said. The storm should brush the coast at hurricane strength on Tuesday morning causing some isolated flash flooding and possible landslides before moving back out to sea early Wednesday, according to the center. Beatriz was 125 miles (205 km) southwest of Lazaro Cardenas, Mexico and headed northwest at 9 mph (15 kph) with maximum sustained winds of 65 mph (100 kph) according to a report at 11 a.m. EDT (1500 GMT). -- SPA
