Security spokesman at the Ministry of Interior Maj. Gen. Mansour bin Sultan Al-Turki announced today that several operations against narcotics smugglers, dealers and possessors carried out in the second quarter of this year have resulted in the detainment of 503 suspects. A total of 252 Saudi nationals are among those arrested. The market value of the confiscated narcotics is estimated to be at SR 1.6 billion. The confiscated drugs included amphetamines, hashish, heroin and stimulant qat.
