A van carrying security workers and a truck have collided head on in Poland, killing eight people and injuring nine. Police described the accident as one of the most deadly in recent times. It occurred early Wednesday morning in Chrzczonowice, in central Poland. The victims were all members of a security company who were traveling from the town of Rawa Mazowiecka to work in Warsaw. Three women and five men were killed on the spot. Nine have been hospitalized, the Associated Press reported. Preliminary findings suggest that the accident probably happened after the truck swerved into the opposite lane when one of its tires exploded.
