scale industrial growth during the era of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah Ibn Abdulaziz Al Saud to the growing number of factories, which reached according to the statistics and reports of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, to a total of 4,600 operational factories with a capital investment of SR 404 billion, employing more than 528,000 employees and workers. Referring to the Industrial progress in the Kingdom, he also noted the provision of SR 36.5 billion through the Industrial Development Fund. "Moreover, the total area of the industrial cities is now spread over 341 million square meters in the Kingdom," he said. The Secretary General also highlighted the numerous incentives that encourage investment, the appropriate regulations and procedures, reductions and exemptions of customs (duties) and opt for provision of conducive atmosphere for fair competition, such as organizing the contest for the Ideal Factory prize named after the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah Ibn Abdulaziz for achieving the highest rates in the export domain.
