The Saudi ambassador to Lebanon Ali bin Saeed Awadh Assiri highlighted the role played by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia upon instructions of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to keep Lebanon, developing, prosperous, safe and secure. Assiri said Saudi Arabia has exerted great efforts to support Lebanon's national unity, end sectarian and political differences and rivalry and called for the Lebanese factions rapprochement and constructive dialogue. In a lecture at Isam Fares Center for Lebanese Affairs today, the ambassador gave an account on his experience as ambassador of his country to each of Pakistan and Lebanon. He cast light on some of the efforts of the Kingdom to promote Lebanon's stability, citing the holding of a workshop on the rehabilitation of Lebanon following the stoppage of the civil war, the assistance to the needy following 2006 Israeli aggression, and the Kingdom's strategy on combating terrorism. Then, Assiri answered questions from the floor. A number of literates, thinkers, media representatives and diplomatic corps accredited to Lebanon attended the event.
