Jordan and Iraq on Sunday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for linking the two countries with a new international railway, said the transport ministry in Amman. The planned railway line between the two countries will link the Red Seaport of Aqaba with Baghdad, according to a report of the German Press Agency "DPA". The MoU was signed by Jordanian Transport Minister Mohannad Batayneh and his Iraqi counterpart Hadi al-Ameri. "The accord is designed to boost bilateral integration and enhancing safe and efficient transport with a view to increasing the flow of passengers and merchandise between the two countries," Batayneh said during the signing ceremony.
