At least nine people, eight of them children, died when a boat ferrying them capsized in a river in northern India Saturday, police said. The accident occurred in the Betwa river in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh. "The victims included six girls and two boys, all aged between four and 15 years as well as a woman," Tariq Khan, a local police officer said. "While six bodies were fished out of the river, three died on way to the hospital," he was quoted as saying by the German Press Agency "DPA".
