Minster of State at the German Chancellery Eckart von Klaeden today expressed the Federal Republic of Germany's appreciation of the role played by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under the leadership of The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques' in ensuring the stability of the world oil market. "Germany also adores the Saudi approach to deal with oil prices in the global market, which reflects its commitment to the interests of producers and consumers, and to maintain the stability of oil market," he said. Saudi Arabia is the most important German economic partner in the middle East, he added. In a meeting this morning with a visiting delegation of Saudi-German Parliamentary Friendship Committee led by Dr Saad Abdurrahman AlBazie, Klaeden noted the great efforts made ??by the Kingdom to bring about peace and stability in the Middle East, and its initiatives in promoting dialogue and understanding between peoples rather than wars, hatred and conflicts that undermine the international peace and security. Klaeden pointed out that as many as 2,000 German workers in Saudi Arabia are receiving the utmost of hospitality from the Saudi people. He also reiterated Germany's desire to further increase non-oil imports from Saudi Arabia in addition to expanding economic cooperation between the two countries. On their part, the visiting delegation highlighted the mechanism and jurisdiction of Majlis Al-Shura and its specialized committees and said it exercises its monitoring role through discussions of annual reports of the governmental bodies and institutions.
