Prince Salman Ibn Abdulaziz, the Governor of Riyadh Province received here today Najeeb Jung, the Vice Chancellor of Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, India. The visit comes within the framework of the scientific visit program of King Abdulaziz Foundation "DARAH". Jamia Millia Islamia is a central university and considered as one of the prestigious and also the oldest university in India. It was established in 1920 and visited by world leaders including (the then crown Prince) King Faisal in 1956 and King Abdullah in early 2006 during a historic state visit to India. The University granted its honorary doctorate to King Abdullah in 2006 and also to Prince Salman Ibn Abdulaziz during an official visit to India last year. During the reception this morning, Prince Salman lauded the University's efforts in enhancing the Saudi-Indian relations and its role in activating the cultural relations with Arab and Islamic countries. For his part, Vice Chancellor Najeeb Jung expressed his appreciation to Prince Salman for the great and constant efforts and interests in serving the Islamic History and its sources, his endeavors to stimulate scientific research and history as well as his support to intellectual and scientific cooperation and initiatives between "DARAH" and Jamia Millia Islamia.
