The Saudi Embassy in Washington last night hosted a reception celebrating the third annual Passport DC event, which is organized by Cultural Tourism DC, an independent nonprofit coalition of more than 230 culture, heritage and community organizations, which develop, deliver and celebrate real experiences for D.C.-area residents and visitors. Passport DC kicked off May 01 with the Around the World Embassy Tour, where more than 30 embassies, including Belgium, Denmark, France, Greece, Italy, the United Kingdom, Slovenia, Spain and the European Union Delegation. The public is invited to taste the delicacies of international cuisine, hear local music and view the elegant dress of nations from around the globe. Throughout the month of May, Washington D.C. residents and tourists are encouraged to celebrate and sample international culture, folklore arts, and food from the city's embassies and international cultural centers. With the Around the World Embassy Tour, participants will have the opportunity to learn more about the language of their favorite embassy or culture.
