The U.S. government has lauded the efforts being exerted by the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Member States to achieve a comprehensive agreement that preserves the security, stability and unity of Yemen and protects the blood of its citizens. The U.S. State Department Spokesman Mark Toner has highly valued the GCC efforts to urge the Yemeni parties to sign the agreement made by GCC countries within the framework of the Gulf initiative. "We call upon the Yemeni parties to sign now the agreement and implement its items in order to ensure an orderly and peaceful transition to the Authority. And this transition should begin immediately for the sake of Yemeni people and achieve their aspirations for a brighter future and a more prosperous and democratic.", Toner said in a press statement today.
