The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) has reassured that "Maeil Mam Ma" infant formula is free of the alleged toxic melamine. The authority labs detected no harmful effects on a number of the company products. The Authority has conducted the necessary tests on the infant formula in its food control labs to detect possible melamine in different product and found that they all conform to standard specifications No. 3043/2010 with regard to maximum limits for melamine in food and fodders, said Dr. Ibrahim Saad Al Muhaize, Vice CEO of SFDA for food affairs SFDA took various samples of the product from pharmacies and subjected to laboratory analysis to ensure the safety of the product markets and conformity to standard specifications, where tests proved the safety of the product and its fitness for human use. Meanwhile, Makkah Toxicology Center also conducted a related investigation and confirmed the proof of the safety of the product and its conformity to the standards for maximum limits for melamine in food and fodders.
