Pakistan's Ambassador in Beijing Masood Khan said today that China stood by Pakistan and supported its efforts in the fight against terrorism. In an interview with Pakistan television, telecast this morning, he affirmed that Pakistan was a frontline state in the war on terrorism, adding that it does not allow the use of its territory for terrorist activities. "Moreover, China fully supports the statement issued by the ministry of Foreign Affairs about Pakistan's tough stance in fighting terrorism," he noted. He pointed out that Pakistan and China have made significant achievements within the joint efforts exerted in the suppression of terrorism and bringing about the security and stability in the region. "Nevertheless, the Chinese leadership also supports the right of Pakistan to deal with the challenge of terrorism by promoting their own national interests in mind, respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity and in accordance with international laws in the war on terrorism," the ambassador said.
