Afghan troops clashed with insurgents holed up inside a hotel for second day on Sunday after several militants attacked government buildings in southern Afghan city of Kandahar, officials said. At least three explosions were heard Sunday morning as gunfire rang out several locations in the city, provincial government officials and residents said. An unknown number of militants were holed up in the Kandahar Hotel in the city centre, from where they were firing on an intelligence department, said a security official. Governor Tooryali Wesa said at least five bombers were killed on Saturday while the militants also killed two and injured up to 30 government troops and civilians, according to a report of the German Press Agency "DPA".
