Awwal 25, 1432 / April 29, 2011, SPA -- The bomb blast on a cafe popular with tourists which killed at least 15 people in Morocco was not a suicide attack, Interior Minister Taieb Cherkaoui said Friday according to dpa. Preliminary evidence indicated that the explosives which blew up part of a cafeteria in Marrakech on Thursday were set off by remote control, Cherkaoui said. However, he did not rule out the attack was masterminded by al-Qaeda. The attack killed at least 15 people, including several tourists, and injured 21. The explosives contained nails in an attempt to injure the largest possible number of people, Cherkaoui confirmed. Police were basing their investigations partly on reports by eyewitnesses saying they had seen a young man with a rucksack at the site of the attack, according to local media reports.
