Othaimeen said the ministry has opened the doors for the charity sector for the pioneering and specialized charity organizations. "This step is meant to seek activation of their role for the care of the orphans. It also extends orphan care opportunities through family-based care, in addition to an aftercare program that is carried out by charitable institutions for providing Financial assistance, training and rehabilitation and employment support," Dr Al-Othaimeen said. "Ever Since the time of the founder of the Kingdom, the charitable works have flourished starting from Orphans schools that also served as nursery schools and the extension of care to reach this stage where we hold a world conference in the era of King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and his government following the presence of numerous charitable organizations," said Dr. Salih Ibn Humaid, Speaker of Majlis Al Shura and also the Chair of 'Kafel' for orphan care in Makkah Province. Dr. Abdulrahman Al Suwailem, a Shura Member and also the Head of the Conference's Organizing Committee said that 'ENSAN' sponsors almost 36,000 orphans and widows through specialized programs to improve their living environment and raise their level of education and grant foreign scholarship for the excelled ones. "During the First Conference of 'ENSAN,' 44 local and foreign papers will be discussed in addition holding of Eight Workshops for people working with orphans,” he added. An Exhibition showing the efforts of associations working in this sector will also showcased along with Seven distinct local, Arab and foreign experiences including globally acclaimed SOS-Kinderdorf.
