Awwal 18, 1432 H / April 22, 2011, SPA -- French President Nicolas Sarkozy gave an initial acceptance to visit the Libyan rebels' stronghold of Benghazi, expressing support for a proposal to release Libyan suspended funds to the Interim Transitional National Council (ITNC), it was reported here today. The French presidency disclosed the news after two days of a visit to Paris by the head of the opposition, Mustafa Abdel Jalil. Abdel Jalil said following his meeting with Sarkozy that he called him to visit Benghazi to raise the morals of the rebels, confirming that the French President has agreed in principle. He added that no date for the visit has been fixed.
