Awwal 16, 1432 H/April 20, 2011, SPA -- Their Highnesses and Excellencies the Foreign Ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and their counterparts from the European Union (EU) held their 21st joint meeting here today. Upon opening the meeting, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister of the UAE and President of the current session of the GCC Ministerial Council said that the relationship between the GCC and the EU should be successfully developed and prosperous, adding that the meeting supports and strengthens these relationships. He expressed the hope that the meeting will contribute to supporting the various aspects of cooperation between the two sides, pointing out that there are strategic challenges facing the GCC and EU gatherings.
